I’m going to try a few more portraits if I have time outside my freelance work.  After a handful of those, I might try for an actual “Star Wars” style illustration, the way Drew Struzen makes it look so effortless.  Till then, I’m having fun practicing.

This was a quick illustration, using pen/ink, prisma markers, airbrush and acrylic paints.  About 10″x10″.   Its from a stormtrooper design I saw in a toy magazine.  Coruscant trooper, or something like that.  Pretty cool.

I like how Lara looks in this drawing!  I’ve been drawing more mainstream characters this week to sell at conventions.  I had never really attempted to draw popular characters simply because for a long time I knew there were so many people that could do it better than me.  But I’ve done quite a few this week and I’m really happy with how they turned out. I’ll try to do more of these.  And I’ll post the others that I’ve done when I come back next week.

I’ll be in Dallas this weekend for the Dallas Webcomics Expo.  A comic convention celebrating webcomics.  I’ll be doing a computer coloring workshop with Joel Watson at 2:30 for anyone that will be at the show.
