2MT Interview
I did an interview with the podcast 2MT last week and its now posted online. Go by and check it out. We talk about childhood ninjas, Lubbock, and why I had no business getting into the comic book business, and if you’re a comics creator hoping to get into the game, there’s plenty of inspiration to be found. Please check it out!

Toy Robot

I forgot that I drew this. A few weeks back on our trip to San Diego, Amber and I stopped off in Arizona at a pretty nice hotel. We swam late at night then walked over to Denny’s for dinner. In my tired state, I noticed that the Toy machine Skill crane looked exactly like an adorable little robot. I sketched it out, changing very little of the mechanical design and I think he turned out pretty cute.

"Show me some of that Spanish dancing…"

Figure Drawing Group last night was good. My friend Jenn was the model, dressed as a Flamenco dancer. I wanted to keep the art loose so I grabbed my jar of dirty ink water and used it to do washes. I forgot my blow-dryer though so the washes weren’t as graceful as I would like. It was still fun to do. My thanks to Robert who’s running the figure drawing group now for keeping things interesting and keeping it going. Its much appreciated.

Ben Caldwell trees
I bought the book Fantasy! Cartooning by Ben Caldwell a few weeks back. Its a great drawing book and I highly recommend it and his first one, Cartooning
to anyone starting out drawing, or with kids that are thinking of developing their skills. He’s just good at keeping it simple and fun, and I love his art style.
