Curls and Cat

Posted by WillTerrell On July - 22 - 2007

A while back I posted the drawing for this painting, I got stuck painting it after about the first pass. I dont have a lot of experience with watercolors. So I just set it aside. After this big commission this week I feel really comfortable with watercolors, so when that was wrapped up today I pulled this out and finished it up.

What do you guys think?

Great technique, but the green might be to primary.

What do you suggest I try instead of green? I’m planning to do a few more takes of this illustration just to get the practice.

Greens fine. Maybe a different green in the same family, or adding some blue.
See the colors you used on the figure and hair look mixed. The green looks straight out of the tube. I just like the way your mixed colors look better.

    Love ya.

I really enjoy this. It might not be safe to hang out naked with your cat though. Claws can be dangerous.
