Dog sketches

Posted by WillTerrell On May - 24 - 2006

I did some sketches of my families dogs today. Gwenivere is the bassette hound. She’s quite the princess. And Shadow is a golden retriever. They’re complete opposites in a lot of ways. It’s really funny. Anyways, I’ve been walking them a lot lately. They’ve never had much in the way of obedience training. So it’s been really interesting to see their personalities change with a little bit of discipline

Update and Time Record

Posted by WillTerrell On May - 14 - 2006

I’ve spent most of the last week chillin. It has been very nice. But now I’m getting ready to start the second issue of Gargoyle’s. As well as start back to work penciling/coloring Gulliver. Coloring has become much easier and efficient for me. But I’m keenly aware that if I’m ever to really make a name for myself (and a decent page rate) it’s probably going to have to be as a penciler. So hopefully you’ll start seeing new penciled work from me up here in the next few weeks.

A while ago I mentioned that I’ve been keeping a time record of my daily work. Someone asked me to scan one in and show it, so that’s what I’ve done here. This is from last week. Towards the end of the book I was pretty burned from having to go back and rework a lot of stuff, so my hours were pretty jiggy. But it is what it is. By the way, my friend Brandon made this record for me. I can’t thank him enough. He really went out of his way to make it a nice gift for me. He even went through my old blog and picked out random quotes from me and included a different one on each page as added inspiration. Pretty amazing. Unfortunately it took me a year to start using it – lol – So all the dates are a day off. So I’ve been crossing them out and rewriting the correct ones. It’s still very cool though. Anyways, hope it helps.

Gargoyles Posters and Sketch Cards

Posted by WillTerrell On May - 10 - 2006

My friend David Hedgecock drew these images of Goliath and Demona to promote the new Disney/Slave Labor Graphics Gargoyles books for the upcoming convention season.  I colored them up today, they’re going to end up being 6 foot tall displays for the booth.  Hopefully I’m allowed to share these since they’re not part of the actual book and are mostly promotional material. I’ve really enjoyed working on Gargoyles. I loved this show!

And this is a drawing of Hudson that is going to be 1 of 3 sketch card designs we’re printing for the conventions to hand out to people to get free sketches done. They’re really great PR. I did about 200 sketches when I was promoting the gulliver comic at Wizard World Dallas. It’s great experience.

Gargoyle’s stuff

Posted by WillTerrell On May - 5 - 2006

I just finished coloring the last page of issue one last night. I just have a few touch ups left and then uploading everything to the SLG server. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. This is a great little comic. And I really feel great about my colors. Something happened after talking to Brian Stelfreeze at Aggiecon, because there’s a remarkable difference in the pages before then and after then. I imagine by the time we get to the third or fourth issue we’ll be doing some really fantastic work on this book.

So there’s an article up at the pulse and I guess it’s the same one as THIS . David Hedgecock, the penciler on the book, gives me a nice little shout out. Pretty cool. Thanks David.

I know… I know… it’s been done before. I drew this last night for my friend Luis’ 29th birthday. Happy birthday Luis!
