San Bernadino County Fair

Posted by WillTerrell On January - 31 - 2006

I just wrapped this illustration for one of my clients. It’s an advertisement for the San Bernadino County fair in California. I had a lot of fun with it. I’m particularly stoked on the bull and rider. Feels almost like I was able to summon the spirit of Chuck Jones on that one. I dig it.

I was really working on color theory with this one. Trying to mix colors all in the same lighting. I’m really happy with how it turned out. My Illos are getting much more crisp.

Drunken Wookie

I did this quick sketch for an advertisement for the local sketch night group. I was hoping it would improve turn-out, but we got about the same amount. Still fun though.

About ten minutes.

First Sketch

Posted by WillTerrell On January - 26 - 2006

I did my first sketch with the wacom. I did this last time I had a wacom. But that was just the graphire. This one is much nicer. Not to mention I’ve learned to use different brush types and textures a little bit better in photoshop. And I’m starting to get an idea of how to use color theory correctly. But for some reason I did a cheshire cat last time I had a wacom too. Don’t know what it is. I just sort of let my mind wander and this is what comes out. Eventually I’d like to do a whole “Alice” series.

This was about ten minutes.

New Wacom Tablet

Posted by WillTerrell On January - 25 - 2006

I bought a new wacom tablet. It’s nice! To mark the occassion I figure it’s time to begin a new blog. To track the progress of my artwork, and to ponder and muse my artistic career. Hopefully I’ll have lots of creativity, and artistic lessons to share along the way. As well as start making a living from my artwork. Enjoy!
